The young players Conor Carty, Pascal Estrada, Raphael Nya, Jamie Pardington and Faisu Sangare will also be making their Wolves exiles this summer

  • John Ruddy (Released)

Although he might never have had a consistent presence on the field in the five years he spent at Molineux however there is no doubt John Ruddy played an significant and influential part in Wolves their progress during his time with the club.

If you asked staff members or players at Compton Park to give you their honest opinions about Ruddy there wouldn't be one person who would have a different opinion than overwhelmingly positive things.

Since the moment he set into the doors of black and gold in July of 2017 as a free agent after having been released from Norwich City following a glittering career that saw him appear in more than 250 games for the Canaries and also earn an England cap It was evident that Ruddy was a player with the attributes that would allow him to fit right into a team that was aiming high.

After a disappointing year that saw Wolves place 15th on the Championship The club had put in a lot of money to ensure they could be able to catch up with that of the Premier League - bringing in veteran coaches such as Ruddy as well as Ryan Bennett, alongside young international talent, such as Ruben Neves Diogo Jota, and Willy Boly. And what a change they made.

In the field during the 2017/18 season Ruddy was far and away the best of any other goalie in the second division. From the beginning of his first game in the competitive league against Middlesbrough and Middlesbrough, he needed to be at his very best to stop Britt Assombalonga scoring in the closing minutes when Wolves maintained their lead to win the win by 1-0 to make the perfect beginning to the new Nuno Espirito Santo-led era.

The first clean sheet was shortly followed by a second with a 2-0 victory against Derby County. Wolves were playing with open attacking, knowing they'd possess the strength and strength of a top goalkeeper who could marshal his defense to perfection in the opposite direction.

The gold of old lost only three games in their initial 27 games of the Championship season in the Championship season, and Ruddy had already racked up 15 shut-outs by the time he was in. It was a remarkable performance for a goalie who was playing his debut in Wolves shades.

  • Romain Saiss (Released)

The Molineux terraces have experienced plenty of famous names through the decades and Romain Saiss is certain to be among that elite group of players now that his stay at Molineux is coming close to expiring.

Never one to evade the challenge as his record in disciplinary matters will demonstrate and his almost constant presence in black and gold over the past five years and his teammates, managers and supporters have always known that the Moroccan captain was someone they could count on to provide 100% in every circumstance.

Wolves made a stop to the north-east as well as the Riverside Stadium. Although they started the game in good spirits and gaining two goals ahead in the first half due the efforts of Helder Costa as well as Ivan Cavaleiro, the second 45 minutes showed the first indications of an Championship title race that was beginning to fade.

A red card to Saiss the midfielder Ruben Neves after the 56th minute was followed with another red card for right-wing-back Matt Doherty a quarter of an hour later.

Wolves had been reduced to nine men and hanging on to their feet But then came Saiss who had just returned after Morocco service on the opposite side of the world and recuperating from an outbreak of illness and fever.

The iconic photo of the player lying lying on his back, taking on his role as three footballers for a half an hour in order to deter the Boro attacks will be remembered into Wolves history.

A wave after another of red-shirted attacks filled the Wolves penalty box and the Wolves penalty area, with Saiss trying his best to transfer possession to his teammates. Although Patrick Bamford was able to score during the 4th minute added-time, Saiss and his teammates did enough to secure the crucial three points that will go a long way in securing the title of second-tier.

The 32-year old has provided Wolves with a myriad of memorable moments during his time in the legendary gold shirt and yet, despite being the joker in the team in the dressing room , and a very popular teammate, Saiss is able to change his relaxed and cheerful attitude to one of determined determination within the flash of an eye.

In his 19 appearances during his first Championship campaign, Saiss may have been unappreciated to the extent of Walter Zenga and Paul Lambert However, he shouldn't have been worried as Saiss was bound to compensate for the time he had lost after Nuno Espirito Santanto joined the club.

The next year under the Portuguese Saiss was the one that saw Saiss placed in the role of central midfielder alongside record the signing of Neves as Wolves took home their first Championship title.

After his exemplary performance during the Riverside, Saiss had become one of the first names listed on the teamsheet, and a new icon for the fans on the ground was born.
